An unidentified Ghanaian commercial car driver has revealed one of the commonest challenges drivers face each day.
According to the experienced Driver, they make money from the ‘trotro’ business but the police take a huge percentage of their money on a daily basis.
He expatiated that the police take bribe from them for no reason and that has been the major challenge in the ‘Trotro’ business.
The Trotro Driver made this revelation in an interview with First Lady of Browngh.com.
Although the driver didn’t categorically state that the police take bribe from them due to fear, his ‘statement’ suggested that the Police have been taking some percentage of their daily sales in the form of bribe.
He pleaded with the Ghana Police to consider them because the consistent taking of ‘bribe’ from drivers is affecting their work.
“Our job, we are working with the police. It’s the understanding between commercial car Drivers and the police. If you are unlucky and you meet a wicked policeman he can ‘worry’ you. The Police should please consider us. I can’t explain because we are by the roadside. I can’t say is a bribe but it’s a consideration.” The Driver told First Lady in an interview on BrownGH TV’s ‘Adwuma Adwuma’.
