Ghana Education Service (GES) Finally Announced The Re Opening Dates For Schools

The Ghana Education Service(GES) has declared a new set of dates for the resuming of public essential schools and second cycle institutions across the state for the 2022 academic year.

As per a press release issued by GES, dated January 12, 2022 students in SHS 3 and SHS 2 are to rely upon to return to school on Monday, 7th February, 2022 while the academic year for SHS 1 students is expected to commence on Monday, 4th April, 2022 (tentative).

For the essential schools, that is those in JHS 1-3, Primary 1-6 and KG 1-2 are all expected to return to school on Tuesday, 18th January, 2022.This follows an endorsement by the Minister for Education upon the suggestion of the Ministerial Committee on Schools’ Calender.

The assertion stated further that, “the full calendar for the 2022 Academic Year for pre-tertiary public schools will be made available at various media platforms, MoE/GES websites and other social media handles.”
